Pedro F. West, Owner and Manager at West Runners, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of transportation and logistics.

Born and raised in Mexico, Mr. West’s education laid the groundwork for his professional success, starting with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in 2001. He subsequently gained experience in the field as a project engineer and a department head at the Chihuahua City Planning Office while continuing his education and ultimately attaining a Master of Public Administration from his alma mater.

Utilizing his degree, he advanced to the role of city project manager at the Chihuahua City Public Works Office from 2007 to 2010, after which he served as sales and project leader at Kalisch Acero and the transparency unit director of the National Executive Committee within El Partido Accion Nacional.

Bolstering his credentials once more with a Master of Business Administration from the IPADE Business School in 2017, Mr. West relocated to the United States, where he worked as a water resources specialist for an energy company and as a human resource and safety supervisor at Trans-National Express in El Paso, Texas. Since 2024, he has excelled with the establishment of his own business, WestRunners, a now-prominent logistics-transportation company, through which he is active as operations and business development manager.

Prior to starting, he conducted thorough research—particularly drawn from his experience in the oil field industry—into the role he was about to assume, which included studying relevant laws, marketing strategies, operations, and overall business strategy. He believes it is crucial to educate future generations on the complexities of the transportation industry. Many laws in the U.S. are not clearly defined, which he has found can lead to confusion and challenges for those entering the logistics space. He encouraged that understanding logistics and analyzing insurance costs is critical, as these expenses can be prohibitively high.

Mr. West has found great pride in reaching his utmost professional goals and finding success in his new country and home. Looking toward the future, he strives to become more involved in the public sector of the United States and work in a capacity that benefits his community. In addition, he hopes to work with either a transatlantic or a local company in the U.S., where he can utilize his broad experience, as well as develop and expand WestRunners, offering his professional expertise to boards and organizations.
