Vic Punwani, Director of Business Development at Cyphlens LLC, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the fields of cybersecurity and finance.

After graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University and Rutgers Business School, Vic began his career in a management program at Valley Bank. There, he worked on confidential projects for senior management and rotated through major departments within the Corporate Office to gain a comprehensive understanding of the bank’s operations. The program aimed to help future leaders identify their strengths and interests. Vic discovered his passion for investments and soon transitioned to Lord Abbett & Co., one of the oldest privately held global asset management firms in the U.S. As an analyst supporting the Marketing, Sales, and Retirement Desks, he gained valuable insights into the firm’s investment offerings, retirement vehicles, and competitive advantages. This role deepened his interest in sales and led him to embark on a 15+ year career at J.P. Morgan, where he advanced through several sales roles within the Investment Bank, Commercial Bank Treasury Services, and Corporate Treasury Consulting. His work in consulting marked a pivotal shift toward cybersecurity, as he developed expertise in fraud prevention and technological innovation.

Vic’s entrepreneurial spirit shone through when he co-founded The Humble Butternut with his sister Natasha and wife Cristina. Honoring his mother’s legacy, the trio created a trailblazing hybrid restaurant and online marketplace that redefined conventional dining with innovative culinary and e-commerce concepts. This modern Indian cuisine venture not only succeeded as a business but also allowed Vic to enhance his skills in operational efficiency, market strategy, and relationship management.

As Director of Business Development at Cyphlens, an innovative cybersecurity SaaS company, Vic leads efforts to address critical gaps in cybersecurity solutions. Cyphlens specializes in tools designed to protect confidential and sensitive information, particularly in an era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses increasing threats. Vic’s role involves driving strategic growth by spearheading high-impact sales initiatives, acquiring new clients across the southern and southeastern regions, and creating industry awareness of Cyphlens’ unique offerings. He works closely with prospects to identify security vulnerabilities within their existing infrastructure and demonstrates how Cyphlens’ solutions bridge those gaps. In addition, he identifies opportunities across diverse industries, tailors outreach strategies to position the company’s products for successful market penetration, collaborates with cross-functional teams to refine messaging, and develops compelling marketing materials. His efforts have significantly enhanced customer engagement and expanded the client pipeline.

Beyond his professional achievements, Vic is deeply committed to giving back to his community. During his tenure at J.P. Morgan, he was an active member of AsPIRE (Asian & Pacific Islander’s Reaching for Excellence), one of the firm’s Business Resource Groups. Starting as Networking Co-Chair, he organized cultural and networking events before serving as Co-Chair of the New York chapter for five years. Vic also dedicated a decade to mentoring students through the Young Professionals Mentoring Program (YPMP), a partnership with the NYC Board of Education. He later served as Co-Director of the program for over five years, helping shape the careers of future professionals.

Looking ahead, Vic remains passionately committed to advancing his expertise in the dynamic and ever-evolving field of cybersecurity, continuing to drive meaningful impact in both his professional and personal endeavors.
