Tyler Graham, Doctor of Chiropractic at the Phipps Chiropractic Center, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of chiropractic medicine.
Dr. Graham comes from a family of doctors with his father being an orthopedic surgeon, his aunt is an anesthesiologist, his grandfather an osteopath and his cousin a registered nurse. Growing up with his background inspired him to pursue the field. His proclivity for receiving injuries during rough sports such as football, wrestling and rugby helped inform his decision to become a chiropractor. With this in mind, he earned a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, magna cum laude, in 2021. Prior to this, he received a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry, with a minor in exercise science from Indiana University Bloomington, magna cum laude in 2017.
Dr. Graham completed his preceptorship with Dr. Phipps, who is retiring and has handed over the reins of his chiropractic center to him. His wife, Erica, is also a chiropractor working in the same facility. Dr. Graham was attending a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner seminar when he met Dr. Phipps, who was looking for an associate. He was inspired by Dr. Phipps who had a very successful practice as a chiropractor and soon found he was planning to retire. Dr. Graham applied for the position at his center and it worked out very well for both of them. Furthermore, Dr. Graham is one of the two people in Indiana who is certified in the zone technique. Some of his patients endure two hours of driving to be treated by him.
On a daily basis, Dr. Graham treats patients, runs the clinic, manages the building and office space, and interviews and hires applicants. In 2021, he worked with the US Women’s Olympic wrestling team to prepare for the Summer Olympics in Japan, and worked with Tamyra Mensah-Stock, who was the first African American woman to win the Olympic gold in wrestling and the second American to win. He worked on the XLVI Super Bowl Halftime Show with Madonna. His awards include being named one of the Big Ten Rugby MVP in 2013, as well as receiving the Kevin Higgins Scholarship Award in 2012, and being named to the Dean’s List every semester in college. Dr. Graham’s ultimate goal is to have many chiropractic clinics and serve in a management role, having doctors come in and receive from him as Dr. Phipps did for him. He wants to extend his reach to other areas to be able to help as many communities as possible.
