Jamarious Rashod Allen, Transportation Management Specialist at Graphic Packaging International, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of transportation.
A first-generation college graduate in his family, Mr. Allen was raised by his grandmother and father in Georgia and attended college there, at Albany State University. While a student, he was granted a scholarship to study in Belize for a month, during which he was able to be immersed in the culture while taking courses. Additionally, he maintained employment during his college years, serving as an inventory associate at a Walmart Neighborhood Market, where he worked from 2012 to 2016, and an operations management intern at WebstaurantStore, the largest online restaurant supply store, from 2016 to 2018. Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in 2018, he decided to remain in Georgia as an instructor of his advised that in order to make the best of his degree, he had to be in an area where the shipping and transportation industry was thriving.
Mr. Allen was active as a Logistics Receiving Clerk at Tara Foods LLC, a position through which he was in charge of inventory and kept track of shipments from 2018 to 2020, and a supply chain optimization intern for Graphic Packaging International in 2020 before becoming the transportation management specialist at the latter company. Since 2020, he has showcased his expertise in leadership and organization through his numerous responsibilities at Graphic Packaging, where he schedules and books truckloads for the carriers to pick up and transport products across up to nine facilities, working with carriers and providing customer updates, and ensuring that products are shipped and received on time. For him, the highlight of the job has been the ability to provide solutions and build a better business through his efforts. On one occasion, he went on a business trip with the motor compliance manager of one of the facilities that was having problems at the time, but due to his background experience in supply chain, he was able to easily understand the daily operations that they were struggling with and ultimately helped the company resolve the issue.
Outside of his main endeavors, Mr. Allen has been involved in Kappa Alpha Psi and its numerous outreach programs, preparing high school juniors and seniors for college and bridging the gap between the younger and older generations. Attributing his success to his family, mentors, and all the people who have encouraged and motivated him so far, he strives to continue building on his skills and goals. Looking toward the future, Mr. Allen hopes to pursue a master’s degree in supply chain and logistics at Georgia College & State University, obtain transportation certifications through the APEX program, and one day become the vice president of Graphic Packaging International.
