Gagandeep Singh Khanuja, Senior Manager at Verizon, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of information technology.
Born and raised in India, Mr. Khanuja excelled academically from an early age. He completed coursework at Nowrosjee Wadia College, served as a research and engineering intern, became involved in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, hosted tech events at Microsoft, and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2016; he subsequently served as a design engineer at Tata Elxsi – Internet of Things. He was inspired in 2017 to move to the United States, largely by his uncle, who immigrated in 1999 and provided a broader perspective on what the American Dream truly encompassed.
Upon arriving in the United States, Mr. Khanuja bolstered his education at Purdue University. While pursuing a Master of Science in computer and information technology, which he attained in 2019, he kept active as a research assistant at the university for two years. He then started at Verizon, where he advanced from a data scientist to a senior data scientist and, since 2023, has found success as a senior manager. In his current role, he supports the company’s capital expenditure team, forecasts and provides insights related to capital expenditures to help save cash flow, and builds visualization apps for senior leadership that provide a clearer view of trends in capital spending and budgeting.
In recognition of his excellence at Verizon, Mr. Khanaju has received several Spotlight Awards. Outside of his primary endeavors, he previously contributed to the Akansha Foundation, a nonprofit based in India that provides help and empowerment to school children from low-income communities.
