Christopher G. Mazawey, Attorney at Law at the Mazawey Law Firm, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of law.
Since 2014, Mr. Mazawey has lent his expertise in residential and commercial real estate, general practice litigation, foreclosure defense, corporate litigation, auto accident cases, and criminal defense as an associate attorney and the torch-carrier of his father’s law practice. He serves as the lead general counsel for two major self-performing general contractors in New Jersey and New York City.
Growing up, he often helped his father, Richard S. Mazawey, in the office of the Mazawey Law Firm, which was founded more than 40 years ago. His father’s strong work ethic shaped his personality and influenced his career trajectory; in addition, his competitive mentality developed from playing sports throughout high school and college. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science with a minor in public policy from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2011 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 2014. Over the course of his educational journey, he served as a senior vice president at Bandwagon; an intern judicial law clerk for the Honorable Robert P. Contillo; and a legal intern at the Westchester County District Attorney, where he assisted in general prosecution work.
Upon reflection on his career, Mr. Mazawey has been proud of working for his family’s business and keeping his legacy alive; he is no stranger to impressive victories in court with high-profile clients after he and his team dedicated their time and services to their cases from the trial court to the appellate division. These achievements have paved the way for future work and continued representation of their existing client base.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Mazawey has long been involved in community outreach programs, including environmental cleanups and volunteer efforts through his and his family’s church, Our Lady Mother of the Church. In the future, he looks forward to getting married to his fiancé as he continues to grow and develop his practice, delivering results for his clients and maintaining the integrity of his profession to the best of his ability. He feels fortunate to perpetuate his father’s 45-year-old legacy and positive reputation in their community. He lives his life by the motto, “Never give in and never give up.”
