Andrew David Moore, Civil Engineer III at the Illinois Department of Transportation, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of engineering.

Since he was very young, Mr. Moore has been naturally gifted in mathematics. While in elementary school, he was three years ahead in the subject and studying algebra in the sixth grade. In addition, he has long been passionate about airplanes and space—largely due to his grandfather, an aviator in the Federal Aviation Administration—all of which led to his pursuit of a degree in aerospace engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. While a student there, he gained experience as an intern at Priester Aviation and a tutor at the university. He ultimately earned a Bachelor of Science in 2013 and became a certified professional engineer, with credentials in MATLAB, Microsoft, and programming in C and Java.

Starting in 2016, Mr. Moore excelled as a civil engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation and has since advanced to the role of civil engineer III there. In his current capacity, he is focused on traffic investigation studies and conducts site visits every couple of weeks. He has also been active as an engineering technician across several factories and has worked with Geometrix since 2021. He has helped in the development of custom rockets, been involved in the designs for flexible launch vehicles, and engineered software for commercial airplane flights throughout his career.

A dedicated member of the Teamsters Union, Mr. Moore strives to attain a master’s degree in engineering shortly. On a personal note, he hopes to purchase his own home soon and, in his spare time, he enjoys playing board games.
