Jamaal Digital Davis, Senior Inclusive Designer at Yahoo, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of technology.

A human-centered and ethical AI product strategist, Mr. Digital Davis has been active in his role since joining Yahoo in 2025. In this capacity, he focuses on inclusive design efforts across product and design systems to ensure experiences are accessible, ethical, and global-ready to accommodate all human needs, delivering solutions that resonate with diverse communities—such as neurodivergent—while also driving sustainable growth.

Mr. Digital Davis previously accrued inclusive design experience as a contractor in civic technology at the U.S. State Department. Through Fearless, a software development firm, he improved the inclusivity of passport and visa application processes on the department’s website, travel.state.gov, as well as participated in the University of Washington’s Inclusive Product Manager Accelerator program, which aims to increase diversity in product development within the technology industry. His earlier experience includes working on inclusive AI and equitable products in the Children, Youth and Families (CYF) space at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, and then engaging in accessibility initiatives at Giant Eagle, Inc.

Mr. Digital Davis began his professional journey studying philosophy at Carlow University in his home city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where a professor encouraged him to explore different ways of thinking, which ultimately led to a position at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, working as a community engagement strategist there for two years. During his time, he wrote a book titled “Design Thinking in Libraries,” published in 2015, which focused on user needs, demographic groups, and service design. The experience laid the foundation for his current career, for which he is extremely grateful.

Outside of his primary work, Mr. Digital Davis has been most proud of an inclusive technology club he started in 2025 through his newsletter on LinkedIn. The kickoff project involved interviewing 30 individuals who identified as Black futurists. Since then, he has been writing bi-weekly, producing at least two newsletters each month focused on inclusive technology, accessibility, and equity.

Looking ahead, he strives to embed inclusive design practices across both public and private sectors, believing that accessibility should be viewed as a growth strategy rather than just a checkbox. By focusing on marginalized groups and centering human experiences in equitable research and design, he hopes to lead in this space and provide valuable services, regardless of the title he holds. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing yoga, meditating, and reading books.
