Nathan C. Kaszei, Applications Solution Engineer at Robotiq, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of technology.
Having completed an engineering internship and earned a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology from Ohio Northern University in 2017, Mr. Kaszei applied for a robotic programming role despite having limited work experience. During his interview at Applied Manufacturing Technologies, he was offered the opportunity to learn a new technology and travel across the United States, and beyond, to work in various factories, which strongly appealed to him. With a machinist background and a family history in Ford automotive, dating back to his grandfather, he saw this as a meaningful way to engage deeply with the industry.
When given the chance to travel to Mexico to program a robot he’d never worked with before, Mr. Kaszei volunteered to take on the challenge for the sake of learning. Willing to help others, take initiative, and embrace new experiences has served him well across every role he’s held, regardless of title or expertise.
Mr. Kaszei was active as an automation engineer there from 2017 to 2018, a robotic painter at Héroux-Devtek, an international aerospace company, for a year, and an automation supervisor at Ventra Salem, LLC, a manufacturer of automotive parts, from 2018 to 2019. He subsequently found success as a personal consultant with Search Masters, Inc. and an application engineer with Electro-Matic from 2020 to 2023. Since 2023, he’s excelled in his current role at Robotiq, a developer of collaborative robotics tools and software, where he has been integral in establishing a full services team. When he joined the company, the service workload was managed by himself and one other application engineer; from his start to 2024, he helped expand the team to approximately 10 members—today, services have become the company’s primary focus. Under his guidance and in collaboration with his colleagues, he has built the team from the ground up into a high-capacity unit capable of handling a substantial workload.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Kaszei aims to settle down with his wife and explore new destinations they have not yet visited. Professionally, he plans to continue growing his team at Robotiq, and ultimately help build other teams within the automotive industry. He’s also interested in taking on a leadership role that engages students—from grade school through high school—in STEM fields related to automation. Though he typically does not plan far ahead, over the next five years, he hopes to become more established in the technology sector, contribute to STEM programs or schools, and, personally, travel the world with his wife.
He attributes his success to his parents: his mother, an extremely practical and down-to-earth person when it came to getting things done, instilled a strong, “no quitting” work ethic in him, while his father taught him how to use machinery.
