Yudi Camacho, Endocrinology Fellow at Westchester Medical Center, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of medicine.
Dr. Camacho is one of the first physicians in her family in the United States and she considers this one of the highest achievements in her life this far. To prepare for a career in this field, she first received a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University in 2006. From there, she earned a master’s degree in molecular biology at McMaster University and an MD from Rush University in 2017. Her passion and enthusiasm for endocrinology flourished while matriculating, and upon graduating, Dr. Camacho completed a residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Since 2019, she has utilized her skills and expertise as an endocrinology fellow at the Westchester Medical Center.
In recognition of Dr. Camacho’s work, she received an award for presenting one of the best case reports at Westchester Medical Center. Furthermore, she received the Eliza Scholarship in medical school. She is also known for her caring and giving heart, having volunteered in her hometown’s ambulance squad and helping elderly patients in nursing homes during medical school. She credits her success to her perseverance and family support. As a medical professional in endocrinology, Dr. Camacho sees different endocrinology pathologies — anywhere from the thyroid to the pituitary and the adrenal gland.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Camacho hopes to complete her fellowship and work as an attending endocrinologist in the outpatient clinical setting. She is aided in her professional endeavors by her affiliations, which include the Endocrine Society; the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, (AACE, formerly American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists); and the American Thyroid Association® (ATA).
