Building Hope Building Commitment (BHBC) is a Charlotte-based nonprofit committed to ending housing instability through faith-centered collaboration and strategic supportive services. Founded in 2020 by Vickie Craighead-Davis, a veteran leader in homeless services, BHBC bridges the gap between underserved individuals and long-term housing solutions—using the power of community, partnership, and purpose.

To prevent homelessness and increase housing retention by partnering with faith organizations, property owners, and service providers to offer deeply affordable housing and individualized support.

About the Founder

Vickie Craighead-Davis brings over 15 years of frontline and executive-level experience in homeless services. Prior to founding BHBC, she held leadership roles with Roof Above, Charlotte Family Housing, Urban Ministry Center, and Men’s Shelter of Charlotte. Her background in housing navigation, compliance, and trauma-informed care shapes BHBC’s holistic and equity-driven approach.

With a Master’s in Human Services Counseling & Criminal Justice from Liberty University and a BA in Criminology from Johnson C. Smith University, Vickie has also earned certifications in Mental Health First Aid, nonprofit management, and forum leadership. She is a relentless advocate, coalition-builder, and solution-seeker with a track record of leading high-performing teams and housing hundreds of individuals.
