Shuaib B. Ismail, Board Member at Household Goods, Inc., has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of consulting.
Since 2023, Mr. Ismail has been active at Household Goods, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides a full range of donated furniture and household items to families in need. In this capacity, he assists the volunteers and donors and leads the group’s Volunteer Committee—through which he visits people’s homes to donate furniture, transports it to the location, and organizes everything. He and others also collect donations from universities at the end of summer. He considers his career highlight to be his contributions to the organization and his impact on people affiliated with it.
Additionally, he has excelled as a special consultant in data strategy and transformation at McKinsey & Company, a major multinational strategy and management consulting firm, since 2022. Here, he helps companies, including a major bank, utilize their data to attract more customers, requiring high-level strategic thinking.
Born and raised in Nigeria, Mr. Ismail earned a Bachelor of Science in computer and information sciences and support services from the University of Ilorin in 2017, after which he gained experience as an assistant business manager for cybersecurity and trust services at Asseco Software Nigeria from 2018 to 2021. He subsequently relocated to the United States to pursue his master’s degree in business analytics at the University of New Hampshire, which he attained in 2022, and better career opportunities. Wielding his degree, he landed a role at McKinsey & Company in 2022.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Ismail has served as a mentor at the Tony Elumelu Foundation, a Nigeria-based nonprofit geared toward African entrepreneurs, where he assists young people on their journey to starting their companies. Looking toward the future, he strives to become a chief data officer at a Fortune 500 company and envisions starting a family. Furthermore, he plans to dedicate more time to volunteering for causes he’s passionate about, particularly organizations that support young people in building their careers and navigating the corporate environment.
In addition, as an avid soccer player and previous teacher of coaches, he wants to eventually attain his U.S. soccer coaching license within the next two to three years in order to coach youth soccer teams here.
