Shajive S. Jeganathan, President and Co-founder at ICOCMN (India Chamber of Commerce Minnesota), has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of philanthropy.
A visionary technology leader with nearly a decade of professional experience in such industries as retail, medicine, finance, and marketing, Mr. Jeganathan has been active in this position since 2025, through which he leads the chamber’s strategy, partnerships, and advocacy efforts to drive tangible value for Asian-Indian businesses and professionals across Minnesota. He established the organization, which had not existed for many years, at a time when it was greatly needed; it took immense effort to make it happen, particularly within the business community.
Under Mr. Jeganathan’s leadership, the chamber has launched and scaled several flagship initiatives designed to strengthen the state’s entrepreneurial and leadership economy. Some of these have included Loon’s Lair, a “Shark Tank”-style pitch competition that has helped facilitate more than $5 million in investments for early-stage startups and Inside Executive Minds, a monthly C-suite roundtable that convenes senior leaders to share insights, inspire emerging executives, and shape forward-looking dialogue. There has also been a structured mentorship and next-generation engagement program focused on developing future founders and business leaders, and several alliances have been built with Fortune 500 companies, state leaders, and industry stakeholders. As a testament to his impact, he was nominated for “40 Under 40” by The Business Journals.
In addition to this primary role, Gov. Tim Walz appointed Mr. Jeganathan in 2025 as Public to the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID (Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design). In this capacity, he represents the public’s interest in support of accountability, ethical practice, and basic rights protections—from public health to welfare—throughout the state.
Outside of these state appointments, he has been active as IT manager of AI and innovation at Solventum, a major health care company, since 2025. He also hosts a podcast—“Prime Talks with Sajiv Jeganathan”—on BharatTV, on which he interviews leaders from various sectors to discuss their inspiring journeys. A large portion of his audience consists of young people, whom he hopes find motivation from these conversations. He also works as a model part-time, having walked the runway at New York Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week—and was named “Mr. South Asia” at the Master of the Universe Modeling Competition in 2025. He previously served at Medtronic, as a senior business system analyst and then principal technical value manager, and in similar roles at other companies, as a senior business systems analyst at Best Buy and solutions designer and senior business systems analyst at TrothIT. He launched his career as a business systems analyst at Wolters Kluwer.
Originally from Sri Lanka, Mr. Jeganathan prepared for his professional journey at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in aeronautical sciences, with a minor in airport management, in 2012 and a Master of Science in information systems in 2016. He further bolstered his credentials with a certificate in business intelligence from the university. Upon reflecting on his career so far, he attributes much of his success to the invaluable guidance of great mentors who have helped him navigate his path and his adventurous spirit, which has opened the door to numerous opportunities. In addition, he acknowledges the support of his family, including his wife, parents, in-laws, and several others.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Jeganathan hopes that his community leadership efforts will have a significant impact on the next generation. He aims to inspire younger children and young adults to believe in the importance of community building and nonprofit work, as he believes there is much that needs to be accomplished in the nonprofit sector. For his part, he is also president of the Hiindu Society of Minnesota and previously volunteered as ambassador of the Educate Lanka Foundation, Inc. and a food packer for Kids Against Hunger. In his free time, he loves traveling with his wife and their Goldendoodle, Clu.
