Roger K. Taylor, Corporate Adviser at Shipshape AI and owner at Energy Systems Consulting, LLC, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of environmental services.
With more than 35 years of computer services experience, Mr. Taylor shifted his career in 2011 by dedicating himself to the renewables and environment industry as the owner and a Passive House Consultant at Energy Systems Consulting, LLC, which operates as DwellGreen. Certified by Energy Star, DOE Zero Energy Ready Home, IECC, and Building Performance Institute, he leads the company that designs homes for people that are net zero energy with solar panels and provides energy audits and analysis for residential homes and commercial buildings—lowering utility and insurance bills and improving the quality of life for the owners all at once. In addition to DwellGreen, he has lent his expertise to Shipshape AI, a start-up whose mission is to direct the advancement of artificial intelligence toward economic development and energy efficiency. Mr. Taylor has been a corporate adviser at the company since 2019.
Prior to these appointments, Mr. Taylor excelled at Perot Systems-turned-Dell Services, where he served as the director of services delivery and senior business development adviser between 1988 and 2011. He’s especially proud of all his teaching there, especially helping train military personnel to be IT professionals and subsequently see them succeed. Previously, he was active in account project management at EDS Technologies from 1974 to 1988, was an engineer at the State University of New York from 1972 to 1974, and served as an engineer in the U.S. Navy between 1966 and 1972. He has also found success as the project manager for a manufacturing plant for General Motors in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in computer science from the State University of New York College at Potsdam, from which he graduated cum laude in 1974 and completed coursework at Southern Methodist University.
Mr. Taylor is a longtime member of the Passive House Institute of the United States, the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), and the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America. Looking toward the future, he strives to educate as many people as he can about the efficient way to build houses; the only passive house raider in Texas, he intends to continue statewide. Mr. Taylor doesn’t consider what he does as work because he’s passionate about it and enjoys it. His motto is, “Save the earth.”
