Robin Marie Duncan, Office Manager at Claiborne Economic Partnership, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contribution and achievements in the field of administration.

A natural leader with a strong work ethic, Ms. Duncan has found success since 2018 as the office manager at Claiborne Economic Partnership. Part of the Claiborne County Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee-based firm serves as a voice and support system for businesses in the area. Among the myriad responsibilities in her role, she handles financial affairs—from billing to invoicing—coordinates day-to-day business with people, and plans events. Her strengths as a manager stem from the skills she learned from her father while working on her family’s farm growing up and throughout her adulthood.

Under the guidance of her father, Ms. Duncan and her family farmed tobacco, beef cattle, and hay; after he took a tobacco buyout from the government, they focused solely on the other two crops. As her father and husband began struggling with health issues, she took over as operator and manager—and shaped the family cattle farm into an extremely successful one up until 2019. Kind and compassionate, she has gone out of her way to sell their hay to the local farmers around town that need it. Her second career was launched one day when she went to the grocery store and saw a former classmate of hers, who worked within the Claiborne County Chamber of Commerce and inquired about any part-time work available; she was offered a full-time one instead—which she now considers “divine providence.”

Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Duncan is an active volunteer for the Claiborne Animal Shelter and Change Claiborne—an organization that aims to help county residents accomplish their health and fitness goals. She is also a member of the Claiborne County Agricultural Committee, Claiborne County Equalization Board, and Leadership Claiborne Board. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue serving the community and helping it grow, as well as becoming even more involved in different groups and committees so she can have a more significant impact.
