Ray Roentz, Owner and President at Heneghan, White, Cutting & Roentz Insurance Agency, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of insurance.
Becoming an insurance agent and serving a small town was extremely important to Mr. Roentz. When he started in the field, he outlined what he hoped to achieve in his career: to affect the most significant number of people and leave a lasting impact by creating good-paying jobs in underserved communities. As the owner and president of the oldest running business in Jersey County, Illinois, and one of the oldest insurance agencies in the state, he has not only worked hard to solve problems for people in the areas of commercial, home, auto, life, farm, and health insurance but continually works to offer higher wages and better opportunities for his employees. In his leadership roles, he oversees the daily operations of the business, provides support, helps to manage accounts, works in conflict resolution and claim settlement, as well as meets multiple clients a day, among other managerial tasks.
While he has led the agency since 2021, Mr. Roentz, a Certified Insurance Consultant, has been active there since 2012, serving as an agent and vice president for nearly a decade. In addition to his primary duties, he contributes as a member of the Board of Regional Directors for the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois, where he also served as vice chair of the Technology Task Force Committee, and a member of the Independent Farm Agents of Illinois. As a testament to his exemplary work in his field, he was honored with a Eugene Sberna Memorial CIC Scholarship by the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois in 2016 and named the 2017 Young Agent of the Year and 2022 Agent of the Year by the organization—which he considers his most notable professional achievement.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Roentz has remained connected to his community as a volunteer at the local fire department for seven years, a little league baseball coach, a basketball coach for the middle school, and a sponsor, donator, and volunteer for a local charity. A graduate of Quincy University, where he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in biology, with a focus on environmental science and a minor in chemistry in 2003, he gravitated toward his profession because he came from a family of entrepreneurs and possessed a business acumen and natural drive to help people. Looking toward the future, Mr. Roentz strives to continue developing his agency and offering the level of service for which he has become known—as well as eventually opening an additional location in Missouri to expand his client base.
Despite all of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Roentz is adamant that his most notable achievement has been his marriage to his wife of 15 years, with whom he has three children.
