Nicholas T. Badalamenti, Associate at Plunkett Cooney, PC, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of legal services.
A dedicated attorney eager to make an impact, Mr. Badalamenti has excelled at Plunkett Cooney, a Michigan-based firm, since 2024. Among his myriad responsibilities, he specializes in insurance coverage and is part of a team of five to six attorneys that research and handles cases related to the Comprehensive Environmental, Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, or CERCLA.
For decades, companies operated with little regard for the environment, producing waste and disposing of it in various ways. Now, under CERCLA, they can be held liable for environmental contamination, with costs reaching tens of millions of dollars, due to the fact that these companies were releasing contaminants into the environment for up to 60 years. As a result, insurance companies that once insured these businesses now contact Mr. Badalamenti’s firm to determine the liability and extent of their coverage.
In the lead-up to this position, Mr. Badalamenti earned a bachelor’s degree in American politics from Princeton University in 2018 and subsequently pursued his law degree at Wayne State University. While a student, he was active as a teaching assistant, legal research assistant, and associate editor of the Journal of Law in Society at the university, ultimately attaining a Juris Doctor in 2022. After launching his career in the field as a law clerk for Secrest Wardle, he became an associate attorney at the firm and advanced to Collins Einhorn Farrell PC from 2023 to 2024.
Mr. Badalamenti attributes his success to his strong work ethic, perseverance, and measured attitude, which has greatly helped him in the field. Looking toward the future, he strives to keep improving daily. Since everyone works hard and any career requires immense effort, he knows that be showing up and giving it his all, he wants to see himself grow in skills and knowledge every day.
