Miguel Ponce De Leon, Owner at Skyline Windows & Doors, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of building and construction.

Backed by two decades of work experience, Mr. Ponce De Leon has found success running his company—a prominent Denver, Colorado-based supplier of European windows and doors—since 2021. In this capacity, he partners with high-end designers, architects, builders, and homeowners to fulfill clients’ dreams of installing ultra-modern aluminum systems, high-performance glass, and eco-conscious designs, “from traditional to minimalist with a cultural flair.”

Among his myriad responsibilities, Mr. Ponce De Leon aligns suppliers with an understanding of how the industry in the United States works; educates suppliers on the necessary processes and procedures to succeed in the market; educates architects and homeowners about product capabilities; makes good products accessible to a wide range of clients; and overall manages multiple evolving tasks. He attributes his success as a business leader to a steadfast commitment to prioritizing what is best for his clients rather than his own interests, honesty and transparency in all dealings, and having always pushed himself over the course of his professional journey.

Mr. Ponce De Leon started out as an auditor for Caterpillar Inc., a prominent construction, mining, and engineering equipment manufacturing company, from 2002 to 2005 before beginning his career in fenestration sales and technical support at Window Concepts Inc. in El Paso, Texas, in 2006. Working there for seven years, he achieved significant milestones, particularly during the challenging years of 2007 and 2008. This period served as a pivotal educational experience for him, marked by the collapse of the construction market in the United States. Faced with the loss of stable projects, he transitioned into commercial projects, capitalizing on the proximity of several military bases in the area. In addition, during this time, he forged important relationships with European systems, gaining insights into their capabilities that exceeded domestic offerings—an endeavor not easily accomplished without extensive industry experience.

Afterward, Mr. Ponce De Leon served as a sales manager at El Paso Window Co. before receiving an offer from a Colorado-based company, Mountain View Window & Door, where he was active as a trusted adviser and a business development manager between 2017 and 2019. A business owner in different field — Italian wall coverings, specifically those by Albertini Stone— who recognized Mr. Ponce De Leon’s potential, subsequently approached him and encouraged him to start his own venture. This led to a showroom and creation of Windows Distributors of Colorado, ultimately leading to his current business.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Ponce De Leon aims to address a significant gap in the construction industry—the urgent need for affordable and energy-efficient housing. He is committed to advocating for high-quality fenestration systems that can enhance the comfort and longevity of these projects, ensuring they are accessible to every individual. His goal is to raise awareness among industry professionals about the value of these systems, enabling them to be effectively integrated into various projects.

On a personal level, Mr. Ponce De Leon aspires to build a strong team that can carry the business forward while also mentoring young individuals. By hiring and training people, he hopes to demonstrate the potential for success in construction and beyond, encouraging others to recognize the opportunities available in this field. Married to his wife, Margo, since he was 19, they have three sons.
