Kenneyetta Danielle Watkins, Licensed Professional Counselor and Podcast Host at Relentless Counseling, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of mental health.
Since 2021, people struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues have been provided a newfound hope and mental, physical, and spiritual calm by Ms. Watkins and her impactful services—both through her practice and corresponding podcast centered on self-love, “Relentless Thursdays.” Through Relentless Counseling, she strives to help her clients help themselves—with a major focus on the spiritual aspect and offering “innovative, organic, and introspective” strategies—over the course of resonating therapy sessions.
Attributing her successful career to her supportive mother and her faith in God, Ms. Watkins gravitated toward her field while facing her own difficulties as a college student. An introvert all her life, she found herself in a toxic relationship at this time and, as a result, she dropped out of school and subsequently juggled two jobs, one during the day and the other at night.
Quietly and internally struggling, Ms. Watkins never took any steps to change her situation until she was confronted by a woman who simply asked her about her passions, goals, and where she saw herself in the future. It was at this moment she realized she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives—she was a good listener and found it easy to connect with people this way. She ultimately continued her education, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from Argosy University. Wielding these degrees, she worked at an outpatient facility, where she discovered a passion for helping those struggling with mental health issues; subsequently, she supervised a crisis call center, where she helped people navigate crises, and then worked at a mental health hospital and a medical center in Texas, where she focused her experience on helping children. She subsequently worked at a support group for victims of domestic violence and started her practice.
A dedicated member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, Ms. Watkins’ work has been recognized by numerous magazines and she has lent her helpful voice to various speaking engagements across churches and nonprofit organizations. Looking toward the future, she aspires to write a book, develop her guided journal, and expand her business by conducting workshops.
