Jin Hou, PhD, Postdoctoral Scholar at Northwestern University, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of science.
Born and raised in China, Dr. Hou earned his master’s degree and started pursuing a PhD before immigrating to the United States in 2017. He continued his studies at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Excelling academically, he attained his doctorate and became a PhD graduate student at the university from 2019 to 2024, authoring and contributing to numerous research papers with several citations in the areas of science and technology; the most notable work he contributed to, “Synthesis of 2D Peroskite Crystals via Progressive Transformation of Quantum Well” was published by the Nature Publishing Group UK in 2024 and has been cited numerous times and gained a lot of exposure.
Since 2024, Dr. Hou has found success as a postdoctoral scholar at Northwestern University, where he works under a renowned professor in the field and is pursuing a two-year postdoctoral position. In this capacity, he has peer-reviewed journals, conducted research, published papers, mentored and advised students, and started a leading project composed of seven people. Looking ahead, he also plans to apply for a faculty position there, involving himself in researching and teaching.
A dedicated member of the Materials Research Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Dr. Hou attributes much of his success to his father, who encouraged him in his academia, and Professor Aditya D. Mohite, a professor in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Materials Science at Rice University, who served as a great mentor to him.
