Eric Waggoner, Civil Engineer at Freese and Nichols, Inc., has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in his field.
Growing up, Mr. Waggoner enjoyed his mathematics and science classes, and he was encouraged by his family to pursue architecture or engineering. While he began exploring architectural engineering in his higher education, he felt a calling to civil engineering. In 2016, he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University. While matriculating, he garnered experience as a technician intern with Garver. He then joined his current firm, Freese and Nichols, Inc., as an intern in 2015 before being hired as a civil engineer with the firm in 2016.
To date, Mr. Waggoner’s most notable achievement would be being selected as one of the 20 individuals to attend the Emerging Leaders Class by the National Society of Professional Engineers. This program endeavors to develop young professional engineers into project management roles, such as developing qualities and skills for the role. Looking toward the future, Mr. Waggoner hopes to continue his work as an engineer and help his firm grow. He also hopes to develop his skills and knowledge as an engineer for him to be able to grow professionally.
In pursuit of these goals, Mr. Waggoner maintains professional affiliation with the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Outside of his professional endeavors, he remains civically involved by supporting community activities and charity events such as community trash pickups and donations during the holidays. Mr. Waggoner attributes his success to his parents for instilling in him good qualities and values throughout his life and for being his biggest supporters.
