THE Dan Dalin is the owner of A Positive Influence Network LLC, a business focused on live event emceeing, sports broadcasting, audience engagement and keynote speaking. Drawing on decades of experience in public-address announcing and live broadcasting, Mr. Dalin serves sports organizations ranging from youth leagues to professional teams, while providing event hosting and speaking services for schools, businesses and community organizations.
A Positive Influence Network LLC was established as a limited liability company in 2025, building on an enterprise that began in 2013 when Mr. Dalin became involved with his children’s youth hockey organization. After assisting in the scorer’s booth, he began using the public-address microphone and developed an approach centered on creating a professional-caliber atmosphere for young athletes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued announcing games when parents could no longer enter the arena, later introducing livestreaming so families could watch remotely. This became a significant milestone in his broadcasting career.
Since then, Mr. Dalin has produced thousands of videos covering ice hockey, baseball, soccer, softball, lacrosse and indoor lacrosse, with his YouTube channel reaching 3,000 subscribers over five years, largely connected to central New York sports. He has expanded coverage from youth athletics to collegiate summer baseball and professional hockey, including work with the Watertown Wolves of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. His responsibilities include coordinating with teams, preparing rosters and graphics, researching name pronunciations, producing livestreams and managing social media promotion.
In addition to broadcasting, Mr. Dalin has developed expertise in live event emceeing, audience engagement and event personalization. He hosts sports competitions, community programs, corporate functions and other large gatherings, while incorporating organizational objectives such as fundraising and concession revenue into his work. He also delivers keynote addresses for schools, businesses and organizations, adapting presentations to each audience. His approach relies on observing a room, identifying its mood and responding appropriately to sustain participation.
Prior to establishing his independent business, Mr. Dalin built a career across sales, financial services, healthcare technology and business operations. His positions included associate pricing representative at Eaton, training consultant at Dale Carnegie of Central New York, financial representative at Northwestern Mutual, regional sales manager at Greenway Medical Technologies, and sales roles at GE HealthCare and GE Energy.
Mr. Dalin earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2000. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of Toastmasters International.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Dalin supports local businesses, organizations and the arts whenever possible. This includes volunteerism, buy local, serve local, and local film, theater and galleries. Looking ahead, he intends to pursue larger speaking engagements, expand his broadcasting opportunities and continue to serve as a positive influence in the communities and organizations he encounters.
