Craig D. Miller, Vice President of Project Management at Samsung Engineering Americas, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of engineering.

Naturally gifted in working with people and solving problems, Mr. Miller gravitated toward his professional path at a young age as his father excelled as a geologist and engineer and has served as a major influence to this day. Engineering has always been an area of enjoyment, fascination, and importance to him—and his passion for it only developed as he grew up.

Upon graduating from high school, he pursued higher education at Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a focus on structural engineering, in 1997. He then became a project manager at Chicago Bridge & Iron, which was once a massive engineering, procurement, and construction company that specialized in projects within the oil and gas industries. He held the role from 1997 to 2011 before obtaining an Executive Master of Business Administration in business and finance from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston in 2012. That same year, he began a two-year position as a senior project manager at Ventech Engineers International LLC and has found success as the vice president of project management at Samsung Engineering America Inc. since 2014.

In the midst of his primary endeavors, Mr. Miller worked overseas for nine years in such regions as Saudi Arabia, Trinidad, Jamaica, and Iraq. In his current role, he has been proud of how he runs and operates the office and the impact the company has had on the industry as a whole—particularly through projects with Chevron Phillips Chemical. As a testament to his achievements in the field, and his established reputation as a firm and stern—yet open-minded and effective—leader, he won the Contractor of the Year Award in 2020. Looking toward the future, he strives to devote his time and energy to either consulting or teaching in the next five to 10 years. However, despite all of his professional accomplishments, Mr. Miller considers his most notable to be his family, which includes his wife, Angel, and two children—his son, Justin, has followed in his footsteps to become a mechanical engineer and his daughter, Cate, runs a beauty salon in San Diego.
