Career History: Director of Operations, Crop’s Fresh Marketplace (2017-Present)
Chad M. Cropper, Director of Operations at Crop’s Fresh Marketplace, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of food services.
Since 2017, Mr. Cropper has been integral to the continued success of his family’s business in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Founded as Cropper’s Market, a local grocery store, by his great-grandfather in 1953, who previously engaged in such enterprises as selling hot rods and constructing houses, his father followed in his footsteps and took over the reins. After his father’s retirement in 2002, the family retained ownership of the real estate and their enduring passion for the grocery business led them to reopen Cropper’s Market in 2018 at their own premises under the name Crop’s Market, LLC—a resurrection from ground zero Mr. Cropper was very involved in.
In his position, Mr. Cropper is responsible for running the supermarket operations and managing the building facility, overseeing marketing efforts, recruiting new staff, and handling the budget. Outside of his primary work, he’s a dedicated member of the Independent Grocers Alliance and National Grocers Association. He’s additionally supported the Brandywine Valley SPCA, the Chester County Food Bank, and the American Cancer Society.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Cropper intends to maintain the store’s community-centered approach, further cultivating its local presence with vendors, as well as focusing on local products and fostering growth within the community.
