Wielding a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in marriage and family therapy from John Brown University, Ms. Petersen is a clinical mental health counselor and holds licensed marriage and family therapist credentials in Missouri and Utah. She launched her career at Ozark Center – Lamar Clinic from 2019 to 2024 and now provides full-time therapy to individuals of all age groups, including families, couples, and young children through her private practice.
Already an esteemed name in her field, Ms. Petersen served as a keynote speaker for the second annual mental health fair organized by the Rural Community Coalition in Barton County, Missouri in 2024 and was featured in Show Me the Ozarks magazine in 2021, 2022, and 2023. She’s also contributed articles to Family Therapy Basics, a provider of tools and resources for therapists, counselors, and mental health professionals.
Attributing her success to her unwavering passion for what she does and a steadfast dedication to helping others, Ms. Petersen strives to lend virtual services through her practice to underserved rural populations. Additionally, she hopes to expand her practice to include in-person sessions in Utah while maintaining virtual sessions.
