Alex J. Schussman, Retail Loan Originator at First National Bank Bemidji, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of finance.

Since 2019, Mr. Schussman has excelled at First National Bank Bemidji in Minnesota, starting as a customer service representative before becoming a mortgage loan processor. He now finds success as a retail loan originator—through which he wields expertise in mortgage lending and consumer loans.

Originally fully engaged in sports, Mr. Schussman was active as a youth soccer coach in Minnesota and Iowa, serving as a Boys U-10 Coach through the Bemidji Youth Soccer Association, and an intern with the Great Plains Athletic Conference. He additionally earned a Bachelor of Science in sports management, with a minor in business administration, from Northwestern College, which led him further toward a career in coaching and serving as a board member for the Bemidji Youth Soccer Association and the Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area. He continued to stay involved in his career until he decided to shift gears and explore the business side of his degree. He subsequently went into banking and feels fortunate to be where he is now as a loan originator.

Also a dedicated co-chair of the committee for the Backpack Buddies Program within the United Way of Bemidji Area, Mr. Schussman was recognized with a Someone Special Volunteer Award by the organization in 2023. His short-term goal looking ahead is to try and improve as much as he can as fast as he can, while his long-term goal is to continue to be present in his community and make a significant impact on it. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering, coaching, hunting, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with his friends and family.
