Born, raised, and educated in India, Ms. Shah was encouraged from a young age by her supportive family to pursue her career aspirations. In 2017, she earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University in India. At her first job, she was introduced to quantitative analysis, where she gained hands-on experience working with frameworks and data sets, leading to a passion for analytics. She joined her second firm, an early-stage startup focused on machine learning, where she introduced a variety of tools and technologies, including forecasting models, to help the company make informed decisions while also improving its clientele.
To expand her knowledge in the newfound field, Ms. Shah relocated to the United States and enrolled as a graduate student in the master’s program in data analytics at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. There, she aimed to learn more about coding, machine learning, and analytical methods. During her studies, she excelled as a student success guide, research assistant, and even had the opportunity to work on a project in Scotland for seven months. In her work, she has sought to simplify complex challenges and improve data quality metrics across various industries, with a particular gravitation toward the financial sector; advanced machine learning and data analysis play a crucial role in assisting stakeholders and businesses in making informed decisions.
Since graduating in 2023, Ms. Shah has been active as an analyst at Par Equity and started working as a senior business analyst at Fidelity Investments in 2024. Joining the current firm, she helps organizations commercialize data, analyzing large-scale financial data sets to optimize operational efficiencies and enhance customer experiences, collaborating with diverse technical and business teams, and driving significant business value by improving risk assessment and detecting critical bottlenecks, among myriad responsibilities. Always driven by curiosity, she aspires to advance in her career by learning more about algorithms and advanced technologies, seeing herself down the line as a well-established and distinguished professional in the financial technology sector.
Alongside her career goals, she’s also committed to giving back to the community by addressing the challenges she faced at the start of her journey and preventing the same for others. She’s been actively working toward making helpful information more accessible to newcomers in the field, aiming to support and guide future analysts while continuing to grow in her own expertise. In addition to her primary endeavors, she has been involved with the groups Global Women in VC, Women in Technology, and was a founding member of WomenTech Network; she has volunteered her time preparing food for the underprivileged in Boston and the surrounding area.
