Kole Kelley, Associate at Jewell Jimmerson Natural Resources Law LLC, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of oil and gas and agricultural law.

Growing up in southern Colorado raising cattle and show pigs with his family inspired Mr. Kelley to pursue law as a means to benefit ranches like his. After his father passed when he was 17, he took on some of the responsibilities of their ranch and found the legal arena could be utilized to operate better. He pursued the field academically, first earning a Bachelor of Science in business administration, summa cum laude, from Adams State University in 2016. He continued his academic pursuits at the University of Denver to receive a JD in 2019.

Since 2019, Mr. Kelley has provided his skills and services first as an associate attorney with Burns, Figa & Will P.C and now as an associate at Jewell Jimmerson Natural Resources Law LLC. He started as a law clerk at Burns, Figa & Will P.C in 2018, and also was a law clerk at Stover & Spitz while completing law school. In his daily responsibilities, Mr. Kelley is involved with client interaction, document drafting, strategizing, and regulatory work. In recognition of his work, he has received numerous accolades. These accolades include being recognized as an honoree for the Denver Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Agriculture for the year 2020. He was the Business Graduate of the Year and the Agri-Business Graduate of the Year from Adams State University and was both the Colorado Collegiate Discussion Meet Champion and a National Finalist in the American Farm Bureau Discussion meet in 2015.

In five years, Mr. Kelley sees himself serving as an advocate for those who need his help. He maintains professional affiliation with the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society of Business, the Colorado Farm Bureau and the Colorado Bar Association. In his spare time, he volunteers for the local chapters of 4-H youth agriculturists. In addition to his work at his current firm, Mr. Kelley devotes his time to the District 6 Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee. Furthermore, he continues to raise showpigs with his family.
