Gary Reynolds, Attorney at Douglas Koeppen and Hurley, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of criminal justice.
Mr. Reynolds initially had intentions to become a teacher like his mother. No sooner than he started that path, he realized he had no passion for it. He took an intro to criminal justice to fill some credits, and ended up meeting a professor, William Head, who grew to admire greatly. After earning a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice at Indiana University Bloomington in 2000, he worked as a probation officer until he was advised by a psychologist about outpatient case management. It was through his work here that he paved the way for him to return to his academic pursuits and receive a JD from Valparaiso University Law School in 2019.
Mr. Reynolds’ professional legal pursuits began with a summer law clerkship at the Indiana Supreme Court in 2018. Since 2020, he has served in numerous roles, including as Chief Law Clerk, Dual Status Facilitator, and Deputy Public Defender for LaPorte County Public Defenders. Furthermore, he has served as an associate attorney at Douglas Koeppen & Hurley. He maintains membership with the Indiana State Bar Association, the La Porte County Bar Association, the Porter County Bar Association, the Inns of Court and the Free Masons. In the coming years, he endeavors to continue working for recognizance bonds for new arrestees in LaPorte County.
