Xi “Valerie” Tian, Founding HRIS and Payroll Product Manager at WeJob, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of human resources services.

Born and raised in China, Ms. Tian earned a bachelor’s degree in financial management, accounting, and business from the Tianjin University of Commerce before relocating to Australia to continue her education. While a student at Charles Sturt University, she discovered her passion for human resources, ultimately attaining a Bachelor of Science in human resource management and business administration.

Having started her career as a financial analyst with the China National Coal Group Corporation in 2014, Ms. Tian continued to work in this capacity after she immigrated to the United States to pursue her Master of Business Administration two years later, serving as an associate financial analyst with the New York Life Insurance Company. During her studies at Long Island University, she first explored entrepreneurship, particularly within the product sector; she ultimately earned an MBA and participated in an entrepreneurship with the Harvard Business School.

Drawing on her credentials, Ms. Tian went on to collaborate closely with HR teams throughout her career. In 2018, she became a co-founder of Package Butler, where she recognized the evolving landscape of HR and how data is shaping industries, particularly the challenges of traditional paper-based processes that were time-consuming and inefficient. As Head of Product for the IoT startup on software and hardware solutions, and then vice president of financial operation, she was driven to influence the financial sector and ensure compliance with relevant technologies, as she believes it plays a pivotal role in redefining antiquated processes and matching skillful individuals with employment.

Since 2025, wielding seven years of experience at the intersection of HRIS development, payroll operations, and compliance management, Ms. Tian has been active as the founding HRIs and payroll product manager at WeJob HR Solutions LLC, where she leads end-to-end product strategy and execution for workforce management. In this capacity, she drives the development of PTO management, job posting, and application workflows, coordinating closely with engineering, HR operations, and compliance teams to deliver automated, scalable recruiting pipelines, and PTO tracking integrated with payroll systems.

Beyond her primary professional endeavors, Ms. Tian has played a significant leadership role at New York University, where she serves as president of the SPS Master of Analytics Professional Studies Program and as vice president of the Emerging Tech Club, a cross-disciplinary organization focused on advancing digital transformation and AI innovation on campus. Under her guidance, the club has established mentorship programs that connect industry founders with students, offering workshops that link academic learning with real-world applications in AI, technology, and FinTech.

Additionally, she has supported initiatives such as a NASA hackathon, and collaborates closely with Cornell Tech’s incubator, helping numerous founders in shaping their products and driving innovation.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Tian aims to grow alongside WeJob and expand their presence in the United States market. Established in 2017, the company has been making significant strides, currently expanding globally into Malaysia, Vietnam, Europe, and already holding a strong position in China. Her goal is to collaborate effectively with the team to help localize their products and services for the market, elevating them to a high level of success.
