Jesica L. Smith, Published Author, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of writing.

Prior to a career shift into writing, Ms. Smith launched her professional journey as a customer service technician at Solectron from 2005 to 2007, honing technical support abilities and commitment to client satisfaction, which carried throughout her next 20 years. She concurrently served as an executive assistant for the Idaho Potato Museum, involved in public outreach initiatives, and a communications and marketing manager with the Greater Blackfoot Area Chamber of Commerce, promoting local businesses and organizing community events, from 2007 to 2015.

A sales representative at Michaels Stores Inc. for a year, Ms. Smith ultimately excelled at Spot On Solutions, a digital solutions company in Blackfoot, Idaho, from 2014 to 2025, advancing from a senior account manager to general manager to the director of operations. In the latter role, she oversaw daily business functions and contributed to the organization’s strategic direction.

Ms. Smith had been journaling throughout her several leadership experiences before reaching a point in her career where she felt she had done all she could for the company. Upon recently buying a house, she decided it was time to make a change. In 2025, she became a published author with the independent release of “The Quiet Leader: Embracing the Strengths of Introverted Leadership,” which asks the question “What if the most powerful leadership comes from the quietest voices in the room?” In the book, she reflects on her own journey and shows introverted leaders “how to tap into their natural strengths—patience, empathy, and integrity—to lead in ways that are grounded, authentic, and impactful” as opposed to loud speeches and flashy presentations. To those aspiring to follow in her footsteps, she advised not letting others’ fear or failure prevent action, especially when facing major change; she believes that with persistence and a growth mindset, a person can accomplish anything they commit to.

In addition, Ms. Smith has long been dedicated to civic involvement. She’s been an active volunteer with across several organizations, previously serving as the publicity head of the nonprofit Bingham County Christmas Tree Fantasy—which she considers her most notable achievement—the committee member of the Bingham County Career Fair, and at the Idaho Youth Ranch. Attributing her success to an open-book policy and her enjoyment of witnessing others grow, Ms. Smith strives to publish more books in the future and broaden her impact beyond her local community in the next three to five years.
