Amandeep Juneja, a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Hartford Healthcare, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of health care.

Backed by more than a decade of extensive education and training, Dr. Jenja has excelled in his role since 2024, establishing himself quickly as an impactful clinician and medical leader. At the Connecticut-based medical center, he sees patients in clinics, evaluates them, and offers treatment options. He also conducts inpatient consultations, performs vascular and endovascular procedures, and follows up through recovery.

In addition to his primary practice, Dr. Juneja—a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the New England Society for Vascular Surgery—actively engages in clinical outcomes research, through which he examines real-world patient outcomes in relation to new technologies and assesses their benefits. Mindful of the costs associated with medical care in the United States, several of his studies focus on ways to reduce costs for patients while still maintaining the quality of care they deserve. His research findings have been published across 12 peer-reviewed articles and presented frequently within the health care industry. Most notably, he was integral in the establishment of a limb preservation program in an underserved area of eastern Connecticut, which required collaboration with various stakeholders, including the health system and other specialists, to ensure that patients receive the most advanced care possible despite limited resources.

Born and raised in India, Dr. Juneja prepared for his accomplished career by earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Manipal College of Medical Sciences in 2012. He subsequently completed an internship at the Manipal Teaching Hospital and a residency at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in 2014 before relocating to the United States, where he served as a resident doctor at Staten Island University Hospital for five years, during which he was named Intern of the Year and Resident Educator of the Year. Between 2022 and 2024, he attained a doctoral fellowship from the Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University, was named Surgical Scholar of the Year, and was active as a vascular surgeon at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut.

Attributing his success to the support of his family, especially his wife, Neha, also a physician, and the consistent support and mentorship of others, Dr. Juneja has found pride in guiding the next generation through teaching. To medical students, physician assistant students, residents, and fellows under his mentorship, he encourages them to avoid choosing a specialty based on external pressures or prestige and instead find what genuinely excites them—given the daily commitment that medicine demands, he believes it is “essential” to feel energized, not burdened, by the work.

Additionally, looking toward the future, he intends to train fellow vascular surgeons across short courses at Hartford Hospital, focusing on challenging cases that have either been turned away by institutions or considered irreparable. During these sessions, he wants to gather passionate vascular surgeons who share a commitment to limb salvaging. He and his team will guide them through advanced techniques, ensuring that they equip the new surgeons with the skills needed to make a difference in difficult cases.

Outside of his numerous responsibilities, Dr. Juneja loves snowboarding, podcasting, and cooking for his family, including his one-year-old daughter.
