Stanley J. Jones, Principal at ITG Systems LLC, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of technology.

Driven by passion and perseverance in science and engineering, Mr. Jones has been active as a principal and chief technology officer at ITG Systems Inc., a global IT consulting company, since 1990 and joined Scientific Games—one of the largest providers of lottery equipment, including scratch-off tickets, terminals, and monitoring systems—in 2015. He joined Scientific Games as its director of software development and has since advanced to become the director of software engineering.

Wielding expertise in communications, networks, security, surveillance, databases, hardware, and software for over 30 years, Mr. Jones lent his services to Bally Technologies for nearly a decade, Station Casinos, and Casino Data Systems. He was involved in creating the first and most successful interactive voice response system for sports betting in Las Vegas and also developed voiceover IP technology for a casino in Macao, China.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Jones, whose father was a military officer in the Air Force, followed in his footsteps and enlisted, ultimately serving in the Air Force Reserve for more than 20 years. He studied at the U.S. Air Force Academy and Dallas College and would launch his career in 1977 at Compass Computer Services, where he found success for 14 years as a lead system specialist.

Within his industry, Mr. Jones acknowledges that artificial intelligence is the dominant trend in computing and a major focus of technological advancement—but recognizes that it can be used for harmful purposes. Drawing a parallel to atomic energy, he points out that it can be harnessed for innovation and destruction. He ultimately believes responsible development and ethical considerations are essential to ensuring AI’s benefits outweigh its risks.

Mr. Jones plans to continue enjoying life and working for the next five to 10 years. He still loves what he does, believing in the saying that “when your hobby is your job, you never work a day in your life.”
