Wielding more than two decades in microbiology and gene therapy, Mr. Day has excelled as the director of quality control at ProBio, a major developer and manufacturer in the biotechnology research industry, since 2024. Joining the company after serving as the associate director of quality and microbiology at PTC Therapeutics, Inc. for four years, he has been responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of working with manufacturing and quality teams to produce drug products and gene therapy materials for clinical and commercial use. Additionally, he attends production meetings and provides three different laboratory groups.

Mr. Day previously found success at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company—which transitioned to PTC Therapeutics in 2020—for 10 years, advancing from the manager of QA Microbiology to the group leader of ASO Microbiology. Earlier, he worked as the assistant director of QC microbiology at Medarex, the assistant manager of QA compliance and microbiology at Gilead Sciences, Inc., and started out as a microbiologist at Gibraltar Laboratories, Inc.

In a career filled with highlights, Mr. Day is proud of his ability to build and maintain strong teams and create a work environment that fosters unity and collaboration among his employees. He’s also proud of developing from the supervisor of a single lab group to now managing several. Looking ahead, he aspires to develop further in his current role and eventually transition into a larger, more challenging position, possibly taking on the role of technical operations lead and overseeing all technical operations.
