Fervently dedicated to his profession, Dr. Barrios has bolstered his extensive knowledge and specialized skills in clinical research for decades. Upon relocating to the United States and settling in Florida from Cuba, regulatory barriers prevented him from practicing medicine as he originally intended. Still, he managed to find an alternative career path he considers equally rewarding and fulfilling. He has since established himself as an indispensable resource within his field. In addition to his primary endeavors, he has been an active donor and contributor to such organizations as Feed Miami, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the AIDS Foundation.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Barrios sees himself advancing into a management role within Merck, particularly the medical side of the company. He has expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities in the company and aims to leverage his experience and skills to contribute to its growth and success. Outside of work, he previously participated in the Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada.
