Dr. Delphine Adams, PharmD, Pharmacist at Texas Orthopedic Hospital, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of health care.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Adams was always a strong student—but also a truly gifted and dedicated athlete. She played basketball throughout high school and from early on, everybody knew she would end up getting a scholarship for her skills on the court, which she did. Upon graduating in 2015, she relocated to the United States to attend the Xavier University College of Pharmacy in Louisiana. In the midst of her studies, she also worked hard outside of class hours to pursue her dream role as a pharmacist—serving as a summer intern at Albertsons Pharmacy within Albertsons Companies, Inc. for three months and a pharmacy intern at Walgreens from 2018 to 2019.

In 2021, Dr. Adams earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the university, where she also made the Dean’s List, and immediately became licensed as a pharmacist, passing all her board exams on the first try, and getting promoted as a staff pharmacist at CVS Health six months after becoming registered—an achievement she regards as her proudest so far. She has been at CVS Health since 2021 and has worked as a consultant at numerous independent pharmacies. Looking ahead, she will be working as a pharmacist in a hospital setting for the first time, at Texas Orthopedic Hospital, where her responsibilities will include several order verifications and working with interdisciplinary staff.

An ambitious and industrious young professional, Dr. Adams strives to one day establish her own business where she can help others as a private consultant. In addition, she sees herself potentially attending law school in pursuit of a degree in malpractice law. Dr. Adams attributes her success to her mother, Cecilia, who she says worked hard in order for her daughter to reach the heights she is at now.
