Porchse R. Miller, Activist at Reformative Action Nationwide Task Force, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of activism.

A civil rights activist with strong leadership, organization, community service, and advocacy skills, Ms. Miller has braved many hardships over the course of her life—culminating in her dedication to fighting for others to ensure a better future. Growing up in Dothan, Alabama, she faced many race-related challenges and lived in the streets before joining the U.S. Army in 1999—serving for two years until experiencing an injustice, prompting her to leave. Upon seeing the Reverend Al Sharpton and a dear friend of hers advocating for peace, Ms. Miller gravitated toward civil rights activism, excelling in it for more than 15 years now; with Reformative Action Nationwide Task Force—a social reform group—since 2019, she has been called “the voice of the new civil rights movement.”

In addition to her position as an activist at RANTF, Ms. Miller has been a field organizer with JUSTGeorgia, a community of justice-seekers at the local level, since 2022 and a civil servant for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People since 2020. She was previously active as a customer services agent at Delta Global Services from 2019 to 2020 and has brought her skills and experiences to such civic organizations as the New Georgia Project, Georgia Standup, and Until Freedom. Among her numerous roles, she has led several marches in honor of those who were killed by the police—including Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Rayshard Brooks—as well as for reproductive rights for women. In 2021, she led the “March On for Voting Rights” in Washington, DC with Sharpton. Reflecting on her accomplishments, Ms. Miller has been proudest to stand up for the rights of families and fight for others in peaceful and nonviolent ways—“doing what Jesus did,” she said.

Between 2011 and 2015, Ms. Miller earned an associate’s degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta and an Associate of Applied Science in medical assisting from Westwood College-Northlake. Honored with an award from the Atlanta Nondemocratic Leaders in 2021, she is a proud member of her community and serves as a member of Joy Chapter #137 within the Order of the Eastern Star in Lithonia, Georgia. She attributes her success to the support of her family and many mentors and peers—specifically, her grandmother was a major influence on her career path.
