Teresa R. Taylor, Owner at T Squared Fitness LLC, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the fields of health and fitness.

Always physically active and driven by a healthy lifestyle, Ms. Taylor’s passion for helping people reach their own fitness goals started during her day job as manager of the Marriott Vacations Worldwide Call Center—where she has worked since 2002. She took notice of her colleagues and saw that they were not living healthily and putting on weight, which inspired her to do something about it. Her husband was working graveyard shifts and so she was seeking something productive to do at night. Because she hadn’t pursued higher education earlier in life, she took advantage of her free time after work and dedicated herself to fitness courses at Salt Lake Community College in her mid-50s—which she considers one of the best and most rewarding decisions she ever made in her life.

In 2018, Ms. Taylor graduated from the institution with an Associate of Applied Science in fitness and subsequently became certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and earned a certificate in Functional Movement Systems. That same year, she opened T Squared Fitness LLC, which provides personal training, fitness plans, meal plans, and weight management programs to match the exercise needs of its clientele through a welcoming group environment and outside-the-box thinking. Her services extend to all ages as she trains children, teaches cycling, TRX, and group classes for teenagers, and is proud of the work she does for those who are 50 and older—during which she always strives to build good relationships with people. As a testament to her achievements in the field, she was honored by West Valley City in Utah as the “2019 Best of West Valley City” in the category of Personal Trainer. Even outside of her primary endeavors, she has committed to fitness by participating as an active runner in 41 half-marathons and five marathons.

Upon reflection of the last few years, she is extremely proud of taking the initiative to go back to school and earn a degree that enables her to help people have a better quality of life. In the future, she hopes to one day be able to turn her personal training business into a full-time job.
