Chanell Raines, Home Health Aide for the State of Illinois Comptroller Rehabilitation Center, has been recognized as a Marquis Emerging Leader for their contributions and achievements in the field of health care.
For Ms. Raines, her work as a home health aide means taking care of others at some of their most vulnerable moments. After providing home care for her mother over a decades ago, Ms. Raines knew that helping care for the disabled and senior citizens was her calling. In her daily responsibilities, she sees their personal needs are met, makes sure they take medications on time, and also serves as a communicator for her patients when she takes them for doctor visits. She has worked in this role since 2016.
Ms. Raines’ proclivity to help others is seen throughout all facets of her life. She is the founder of The Graceful Givers, a nonprofit organization that helps children and families in need. Ms. Raines’ goal for the next five years is to start her own business so she could help more people. After her community saw how well she cared for her sick mother, she was asked to help others in need, which launched her into her current line of work. She is currently studying forensic psychology at Governors State University.
